Delegation from Burapha University , Thailand, Visits FAHWMU

On May 13, Associate Professor Sumol Sakolchai, Chairperson of the University Council of Burapha University, Thailand, led a 4-member delegation to The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (FAHWMU) for an exchange visit. The delegation was received by Miao Liyi, Party Secretary of the School of International Education at Wenzhou Medical University; Xia Lu, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Jin Xiance, Director of the University Library, President of the Journal Press, and Vice President of FAHWMU, along with the director of the Cooperation & Communication Department.

The delegation visited the simulation clinic and the hospital history museum. During the simulation clinic session, the delegation received a systematic overview of the hospital’s achievements in digital infrastructure, information management, and artificial intelligence applications in medicine. The delegation showed strong interest in the hospital’s smart medical equipment, including self-service kiosks and automated prescription dispensing machines in the outpatient pharmacy. They not only inquired in detail but also observed the operational procedures on site, offering high praise for the hospital’s innovative practices in improving medical service efficiency and enhancing the patient experience. At the history museum, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the hospital’s development history, academic heritage, and institutional culture, and expressed deep appreciation for its strong academic atmosphere and humanistic spirit.

Our hospital shares a long-standing and productive relationship with Burapha University. Since 2005, the Thai university has sent multiple delegations each year, resulting in sustained and fruitful cooperation in areas such as nursing, clinical teaching, and faculty-student exchanges. This visit marks the delegation’s second trip to our hospital within the same year, reflecting both sides’ sincere commitment and confidence in deepening cooperation. Looking ahead, the two institutions plan to expand collaboration in smart medicine, nursing education, and cross-border research, jointly building a more impactful platform for Sino-Thai medical education and people-to-people exchange, and contributing further to the advancement of regional health development.
