Neurosurgery

In 1952, Professor Lin Jingping, a surgical expert and then president of our hospital, successfully performed the first craniotomy for bullet removal operation in Zhejiang Province. In 1975, our hospital officially established neurosurgery. In the 1990s, it took the lead in comprehensively carrying out microneurosurgery in the province. Now it has become a regional neurosurgery center integrating medicine, education and research in Southeast Zhejiang and Northern Fujian, and has a certain influence in China. Department of Neurosurgery has distinct characteristics and great advantages in brain tumor, cerebrovascular disease, craniocerebral trauma, disease of spinal cord, functional neurosurgery, etc. Annual operation of neurosurgery is more than 3000. The discipline scale, the number of clinical diagnosis and treatment cases and the number of operations rank top three in Zhejiang Province. In 2019, it ranked 21st in discipline ranking of Chinese Hospital Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics. From 2015 to 2019, the department has published 102 SCI articles. The cumulative impact factor was 343.558, and the series of research results have been published in top international journals such as Brain, ACS-NANO, PNAS and so on.
