The First School of Medicine (School of Information and Engineering) is the largest clinical teaching base of Wenzhou Medical University. Professor Miao Tianrong developed the standard logarithmic visual acuity chart by hand calculation with only a pen and ruler, which is still the "gold" standard for China's mandatory national standard. Lin Jingping is known as "the first operation in South Zhejiang", he performed the first craniotomy in the province in 1952.
