Admission Instructions
The First School of Medicine (School of Information and Engineering) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University implement an integrated operation and management mechanism. The College now has four majors: Clinical Medicine (including Clinical 5+3 and General Practice), Medical Imaging, Medical Imaging Technology and Information Management & Information Systems, with 2,556 students and 470 interns. The major of clinical medicine is a national first-class undergraduate major, a national pilot major of comprehensive reform, a national specialty with special features and a key specialty of Zhejiang Province and an advantageous specialty of Zhejiang Province. The medical imaging major is a national first-class undergraduate major, a provincial key major and a provincial "12th Five-Year Plan" emerging specialty. At present, there are three national first-class undergraduate courses, eight provincial first-class undergraduate courses and six provincial high-quality courses.
The college has a team of high-quality teachers, with 59 professors and 109 associate professors; 40 doctoral supervisors and 294 master's supervisors; 177 doctors and 1,114 masters; three members of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education for Higher Education, one deputy director of the National Post-Graduation Medical Education Specialized Committee on Emergency Medicine, one deputy director of the National Biomedical Education Executive Committee on Informatization, and one member of the National Biomedical Education Committee Executive Committee on Evaluation.
Following the national education policy, the college has been gradually promoting various teaching reforms and improving the teaching quality assurance system under the leadership of the concept of cultivating people with moral character and the quality of talent training has been continuously improved.
In the past 10 years, the initial employment rate of clinical medicine graduates has reached over 95%; the acceptance rate of graduate studies is around 60%. The average pass rate of the national clinical medicine qualification examination for clinical medicine graduates has always ranked among the top 10% nationwide. In 2020, the annual business level test results of national residency training entered the top of the country, among which the results of the base of obstetrics and gynecology specialty ranked the first in the province; the overall passing rate of the national residency training final examination in 2021 reached 96.8%, ranking the first among the six provincial general hospitals.
Students were awarded the Grand Prize in the East China Competition in 2017 and the Second Prize in 2014 and 2018; students were awarded the Grand Prize in the East China Competition in 2017 and the Second Prize in 2014 and 2018; students were awarded the Challenge Cup National University Student Clinical Skills Competition in 2017 and the Second Prize in 2014 and 2018. "3 Grand Prizes in the Challenge Cup, 3 Gold Prizes in the Challenge Cup, and 2 Gold Prizes in the China Internet+ Student 2 Gold Medals in the China Internet+ Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and 2 China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Awards. For seven consecutive years, one undergraduate student was awarded the National Scholarship Special Review Award each year, and one student was awarded the title of "Most Beautiful University Student" in 2021 (the first one in Zhejiang Province); two gold medals were awarded in the China Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition.
