FAHWMU Won Two Gold Medals and Two Silver Medals in the 15th Medical Technology Skills Competition for College Students of Wenzhou Medical University

Promote reform, training, teaching and learning by competition. From February 24th to 26th, the 15th Medical Skills Competition (Clinical Medicine Track) of Wenzhou Medical University was successfully held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (FAHWMU). A total of 144 contestants from 36 teams recommended by 20 teaching hospitals in our school participated in this competition, and the team members showed their level and style with meticulous clinical thinking and solid clinical skills. With skillful operation and stable on-the-spot performance, the four teams composed of students from our college have achieved good results of two gold medals and two silver medals, and won the Excellent Organization Award.

This competition adopts multi-station assessment mode, which is divided into two stages: preliminary competition and final competition. The competition covers a wide range, including clinical skills operation items commonly used in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and emergency department, as well as physical examination, case analysis, interpretation of checklist and other items. The competition fully embodies the medical education orientation of basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills, emphasizes the importance of the three basics in the cultivation of clinical ability, and also tests students' comprehensive abilities such as clinical thinking, clinical decision-making ability, teamwork, humanistic care and doctor-patient communication. On the field, the players left a deep impression on the referees and all the observers with solid clinical basic skills, standardized and skilled operation, good psychological quality, tacit teamwork and indomitable fighting spirit.

After two days of fierce competition, the judges strictly examined and scored. According to the competition results, 18 of the 36 teams participating in the clinical medical track entered the finals. Among them, 3 teams won gold medals, 6 teams won silver medals, 9 teams won bronze medals, 18 teams won excellent awards, and 6 teaching hospitals won excellent organization awards.

Advanced event monitoring and scoring system, live broadcast and live explanation of the event, and event organization have been well received by teachers and students of all participating units.
