Key Laboratory of Aging and Neurological Disorder Research of Zhejiang Province, established on the basis of Neurology, Neurosurgery and surgical laboratory, was approved as the provincial key laboratory by Zhejiang provincial department of science and technology in August 2012. Professor Zhuge Qichuan, the Zhejiang Province key medical disciplines leader, director of brain research center, is now appointed as laboratory chief. Professor Jin Kunlin, the Talent of Zhejiang Thousand Talents Program, director of the institute for regenerative medicine, is appointed as the chairman of laboratory academic committee.

Aiming at the prevent treatment status of aging and nervous system disease in China, around with main research direction of aging and cerebral apoplexy, the prevention, foundation and clinical research of some sorts of cerebral diseases, nerve damage and protection, our laboratory discovered the related mechanism of neural stem cells treating on cerebral apoplexy, produced some new international influential technology methods on aging and nerve diseases therapy, which cultivated a large number of talents in the cross discipline of neurosciences and elderly geriatrics, and provided the supporting role on the dominical research for our province. Our laboratory now equips professional technical platforms, including cell biology, molecular pharmacology, histochemistry, behavioral, proteomics, micromanipulation, etc. Till now, it has undertaken more than 25 National Natural Science Funds and 28 Provincial Subjects, and published more than 260 SCI papers. The Laboratory has achieved the First prize of Science and Technology Progress of Zhejiang Province, the First Prize of Medicine and health Science and Technology award of Zhejiang Province, the First Prize of the Chinese Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, and the Third prize of China Science and Technology Medicine Award.
