Delegation from the The Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute at The Chinese University of Hong Kong Visits Our Hospital

On March 13, a delegation of seven professors from the Choh-Ming Li Neuroscience Institute at The Chinese University of Hong Kong visited our hospital. The delegation was received by Vice President Xiaoying Huang of our hospital, along with directors from the Scientific Research Department, Dept. of Cooperation and Communication, Dept. of Neurology, Dept. of Geriatrics, and the Provincial Key Laboratory of Smart & Research and Translation of Tumor Biomarkers, among other relevant functional departments, clinical units, and laboratory staff in charge. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as clinical research in neurology, the development of geriatric medicine, and joint laboratory construction, reaching a preliminary consensus on signing a strategic cooperation intent agreement. This laid a solid foundation for subsequent substantive collaborations.
During the meeting, Prof. Ko Ho Owen, Director of Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute, Associate Professor of Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, provided a comprehensive overview of the institute's development history, research features, academic achievements, and future plans. Vice President Xiaoying Huang introduced our hospital's history, achievements in discipline construction, talent cultivation systems, hospital culture development, as well as innovative measures and notable outcomes in the coordinated development of medical treatment, education, and research. The Department of Geriatrics also shared its development history, disciplinary characteristics, and future plans.
During their visit, the delegation toured our hospital's Nanbaixiang and Gongyuanlu campuses. They held in-depth discussions with Professor Song Weihong, a Canadian Academy of Health Sciences Fellow and leading figure in geriatric medicine at our hospital, at the soon-to-be-opened International Alzheimer's Disease Research and Prevention Center. Both sides reached a consensus on cooperation in related fields and agreed to advance work in basic research and translational outcomes in neurology and geriatrics, as well as talent exchange and training. Jin Miaomiao, a member of the hospital's Party Committee, also participated in the discussions.
Moving forward, both parties will leverage their respective strengths in clinical resources, research platforms, and talent pools to actively explore innovative, multidisciplinary collaborative models. Together, they aim to enhance medical research standards and promote the translation of scientific achievements, contributing positively to the advancement of healthcare.
