Delegation Led by the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences,Burapha University ,Thailand Visits Our Hospital


On March 24, a delegation of eight members from the College of Allied Health Sciences, Burapha University, Thailand, visited our hospital. The event was attended by Xia Lu, Vice Director, Office of International Affairs, Office of Hong Kong,Macau and Taiwan Affairs in Wenzhou Medical University; Jin Xiance, Vice President of our hospital; Yuan Zhengzhong, Vice President of the School of Chinese Medicine , Wenzhou Medical University and concurrently Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department at our hospital; as well as representatives from relevant clinical departments and the Department of Cooperation and Communication.
During the meeting, the director from Department of Cooperation and Communication provided an overview of Wenzhou Medical University’s history, academic disciplines, research achievements, and international collaborations.
Dr. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Vice President for Academic Services and Lifelong Learning Department and Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Science, delivered a detailed introduction to the university’s development, disciplinary strengths, and plans for international cooperation.
In the academic exchange session, Dong Qiantong, vice director of the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department, presented a thematic report on the advancements in the application of domestically produced surgical robots in the medical field, showcasing significant achievements in China’s medical technology innovation. Xiao Fangyi, vice director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Department, systematically highlighted the department’s outstanding accomplishments in research and clinical practice, which were highly commended by the Thai delegation.
During the collaboration discussions, the two parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on various topics, including technical exchanges in robotic surgery for general surgery, academic exchanges on interventional procedures in cardiovascular medicine, stroke and chronic pain rehabilitation techniques, functional rehabilitation training methods, as well as cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine disciplines and undergraduate student exchange programs.
Jin Xiance and the Thai delegation focused on discussing collaborative initiatives for joint doctoral training programs, expressing their commitment to establishing a regular communication mechanism to advance the implementation of specific collaboration plans. The Thai side welcomed Chinese scholars to Thailand for academic courses and research collaborations and expressed their intention to send Thai students to China for scientific research exchanges.
This visit not only strengthened the consensus on medical collaboration between China and Thailand but also laid a solid foundation for future academic exchanges and research cooperation. It will effectively promote technological innovation and talent cultivation in the field of health sciences between the two countries, contributing positively to the advancement of global healthcare.
