The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University Joined Forces with 59 Medical Institutions to form an Alliance for General Medicine Specialization

    On the morning of April 16th, the "General Practice Medicine Academic Seminar and the Launching Ceremony of the General Practice Medicine Specialty Alliance" was held in the academic lecture hall ofthe First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. The event consisted of a main venue for the launching ceremony and a nursing sub-venue. Shen Xian, secretary of the hospital party committee, Wang Meihao and Chen Zimiao, vice president of the hospital, representatives from relevant clinical departments and administrative offices, as well as more than 100 key medical and health professionals from 59 basic-level hospitals in Wenzhou attended the ceremonyand academic meeting.

    In his online speech at the launching ceremony, Prof.Shen Xian said, as the overall lead unit, our hospital, in conjunction with 59 basic-level hospitals, has established the General Practice Medicine Specialty Alliance, which is a positive exploration for our hospital to strengthen regional cooperation among specialties. He hopes that by establishing the alliance of general practice medicine, and through the interconnection and mutual communication of general practice medicine medical education, research management, and other aspects between the alliance units, we can work together to improve the diagnosis and treatment services of general practitioners, professional standardized training and teaching, scientific research and technology, and discipline management level, grow and develop and provide patients with more convenient and efficient medical service.

   Vice president Wang Meihao introduced the alliance and stated that the alliance aims to promote the standardization and high-quality service of general practice medicine specialties in southern Zhejiang. It will explore the construction of a general practice medicine specialist training system, assist in promoting the construction and development of general practice medicine in basic-level hospitals, facilitate clinical research and training in general practice medicine, and develop the specialization of general practitioners.

    Vice president Chen Zimiao said that general nursing is an essential component of general practice medicine, and the establishment of the General Nursing Alliance aims to effectively assist basic-level hospitals to improve their general nursing services and innovate their nursing service models. They hope to build a regional characteristic general nursing center and jointly promote the rapid development of general nursing throughout the city, by utilizing our hospital's technology, personnel, and equipment advantages.

    Li Xiao, director of the Puzhou Street Community Health Service Center in Longwan District, spoke on behalf of the General Practice Medicine Alliance, stating that they would continuously upgrade the quality of primary care and other medical services through the strength of the alliance, consolidate basic health services, and serve as the "guardian" of people's health.

    The establishment of the General Practice Medicine Specialty Alliance of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University was witnessed by the attendees. Wang Meihao and Chen Zimiao conferred tablet to representatives from various alliance units.

After the launching ceremony, a seminar on general practice medicine was held, where Professor Pan Jingye, the leader of general practice medicine at our hospital, shared a keynote speech titled "Building Confidence in General Practice Medicine" with professional perspectives and vivid language, leaving a deep impression.

    Experts from specializations such as neurology, cardiology, and gynecology respectively gave lectures on common diseases and frequently occurring illnesses in their fields based on the characteristics of basic-level hospitals. In the nursing sub-conference, Sun Caixia, the director of our hospital's nursing department, gave a lecture entitled "Working Together, Hand in Hand for Mutual Benefit—General Nursing Alliance Assists High-Quality Development." Members of the alliance engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on further cooperation within the alliance.

    The establishment of the General Medicine Specialization Alliance at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University will effectively promote the development of general medicine in Wenzhou and southern Zhejiang region. It will better promote high-quality coordinated development of primary health service, provide more comprehensive, high-quality, and efficient general medical services for patients, and contribute to the creation of a "Healthy Zhejiang" through joint efforts.
