Emergency Medicine


The department of emergency medicine, established in 1982, is the key clinical specialty of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Zhejiang Province. It has built the first batch of EICU in China and is one of the earliest emergency specialties at home with a complete emergency medical service system. At present, it is a regional emergency medical center with great influence in China. Its overall scale, medical technology, medical education and academic research level rank among the top at home. It has been continuously selected as the nominated hospital in the best specialist reputation list in East China and ranked 29th in discipline ranking of Chinese Hospital Science and Technology Evaluation Metrics in 2020. The building area of the emergency center is about 11000 square meters, which is completely set and equipped with helicopter parking lot. The annual emergency volume is more than 290,000. The medical service includes all emergencies(especially for cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation, cardio-cerebrovascular emergency treatment and acute poisoning detoxification), severe infection control, trauma and disaster rescue. This center also took a key part in developing guidelines and expert consensus on acute poisoning,sepsis and other critical illness, leading to the standardization of emergency diagnosis and treatment in China.
