Intensive Care Medicine

The department of Intensive Care Medicine is characterized by rescuing various kinds of critical diseases and multiple injuries, which provides treatment methods including: various invasive and non-invasive respiratory support technologies, percutaneous dilatation tracheotomy, continuous renal replacement therapy, artificial liver plasma exchange technology, mild hypothermia cerebral protection therapy, critical ultrasound technology, pulse-indicated continuous cardiac output monitoring (PICCO), Swan-Gans hemodynamic monitoring technology, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), etc.

The department of Intensive Care Medicine bears rescue missions of critical diseases covering southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian areas. More than 3,500 people of various types of critically ill patients are admitted in the department each year. During the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, our department played an important role in public health event and was awarded as the Advanced group and Advanced Party Organization in the fight against Covid-19 in Zhejiang Province and many other honors.
